Students Hayley and James are spending their first Christmas apart when each secretly decides to switch trains and surprise the other. Instead, they pass at the station and end up stranded in each other’s holiday plans: Hayley with James’s reserved family at a grand Gloucestershire home, and James amid the noisy warmth of Hayley’s family in Macclesfield.
